About me

I was born in Ft. Collins, Colorado but raised in Eastern Iowa with my older sister, Anne-Marie.  We attended elementary, middle and high schools in Maquoketa, Iowa and Papakaio, New Zealand.

Then I went to the Milwaukee School of Engineering for a BS in Mechanical Engineering.  While I worked as a designer of heating and cooling systems, I attended law school at night, at Chicago Kent College of Law and achieved my Juris Doctorate.

My career took a circuitous route from Construction Litigation to Patent Law, to Owner’s Representative work in Commercial Real Estate. All that time, I was on/off with my writing.

I live in Lakewood Colorado with my husband Michael, two boys Wyatt and PK, and the world’s sweetest dog.
